At the San Pedro Church of Christ, we believe it is of the utmost importance to follow the New Testament example in our worship and in obtaining our salvation.

The Morning Worship service is held in a more formal setting.  Evening Worship service is more casual but follows the same order of worship.  Services are held in the main auditorium where the Church members participate in the weekly commandment to partake of the Lord's Supper, or Communion, to remember the sacrifice the Lord Jesus made on our behalf (see Acts 20:7 and I Corinthians 11:18-30).  The remainder of the service is devoted to praising God through singing, praying, giving and meditating upon a Scripture-centered sermon.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the preacher offers an invitation.  The invitation is a time when people who desire to enter God's family through professing their belief that the Lord is God and Savior, and being baptized in the Lord for the remission of their sins can do so.  Response to the invitation is not necessary to become a Christian, as you can approach any of the members at any time to inquire of what needs to be done.  Additionally, the invitation is a time for Christians who have fallen away from God to be restored through prayers.  At the announcement of the invitation, those who would like to become a Christian or desire to be restored simply approaches the preacher during the invitation song.

Unfortunately, many in the world believe that Christians have a 'holier than thou' attitude and this, to our regret, is somewhat true.  Many Christians feel that salvation comes from being better than everyone else or by outward works rather than inward faith in God.  This type of attitude comes from a lack of understanding on the part of the Christian and serves only to make the individual feel better while destroying God's Church instead of building it up.  Although the Apostle Paul reminds the Christian that there is an individual and collective responsibility to ensure false teachers do not corrupt the Church, we are likewise reminded not to judge those outside of the Church (1 Corinthians 5:11-13; Matthew 7:1-27).  Just like most Christians, we do not try to offend, shame or force anyone into believing the Gospel since it is a personal decision to either accept or deny what Christ taught ~ persuasion of the heart is what Christ would have us preach (Matthew 10:14; Revelation 22:11,17).

We believe the Truth speaks for itself and, if one is genuinely seeking the Truth, it will be found through studying the Bible.  We hope you find this attitude of Biblical worship and preaching the Truth through love among the Christians at the San Pedro Church of Christ.
